His Excellency, Cheikh Bachir Gemayel
The 7th President of the Republic of Lebanon
Bashir Gemayel shared the dream of Lebanon as an oasis of freedom and equality. In a few days as President elect, his clear vision and national resolve transcended sectarian lines and allowed him to captivate the nations heart. Regretfully, he was assassinated by the barbaric forces of darkness and intolerance on September 14th, 1982.
